The LCSI
The LCSI (Communication in Computer Systems Laboratory) is a specialized research center at ESI, dedicated to the study and development of solutions in key areas of computer science, such as artificial intelligence, advanced databases, distributed systems and applied mathematics. It brings together several active research teams, supervising Masters and PhD students. The laboratory plays a central role in the school's advanced training and scientific production, and participates in national projects (PRFU) and academic collaborations, reinforcing the visibility of research at ESI.

Our Team
The LCSI brings together a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and teacher-researchers, supported by PhD and Master students. The laboratory is structured around four research teams covering a variety of fields: databases, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics and distributed systems. Each team is headed by a scientific leader, and the laboratory is coordinated by a director assisted by a steering committee.

Our Research Areas
The LCSI is an applied research laboratory that explores several areas of advanced computing, such as distributed systems, post-relational databases, artificial intelligence, image processing, data mining and applied mathematics. He is also interested in semantic analysis, spatio-temporal visualization and emerging data science technologies. Its work leads to publications and prototypes, and contributes to training through research, often in collaboration with other laboratories or industrial partners.

Our Local
The LCSI is located on the campus of the École Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique (ESI) in Oued Smar, Algiers. The laboratory occupies a surface area of around 200 m², spread over several offices and work rooms. These premises can accommodate researchers, teachers, PhD students and project students. The laboratory also has space for scientific meetings and mentoring, providing an environment conducive to collaborative research and innovation.
